Caña Brava is a 3-year-old aged and filtered rum made from local sugar cane grown in the mineral-rich, volcanic soil of the Herrera region, Panama. Aged in used Bourbon barrels for over three years and carbon filtered to create a light yet complex rum in the “Carta Blanca” style that inspired so many classic cocktails like the Daiquiri, El Presidente, Cuba Libre and Mojito.
Appearance: Pale straw hue.
Nose: Fresh-cut grass, coconut and molasses.
Taste: Plenty of citrus with cacao butter and vanilla notes.
Finish: Hints of dark chocolate drying out with light oak.
Overall: Smooth, silky rum that remains clean and vibrant.
Caña Brava 3 Year really does make wicked white rum classics. Make sure to have a bottle of this on hand for those hot summer days where a refreshing Daiquiri or Mojito would really hit the spot.
If the person you’re buying for is a fan of the Caña Brava 3-Year, you could also try Havana 3-Year, El Dorado 3-Year or Atlantico Platinum.
Rum is a spirit made exclusively by fermenting sugarcane or its by-products, these being molasses and sugarcane juice. There are no real rules when it comes to rum production making it a very large and varied category. The process of making this spirit is a combination of fermentation and distillation.
