TT Cinema: Casino Royale Martini Day Screening
We’re marking the eve of Martini Day with an evening of appreciation for the most infamous of (controversially-shaken) Martini-sippers, 007 himself, through a screening of the critically-acclaimed Casino Royale.
Daniel Craig’s first outing as the legendary secret agent takes him to Madagascar, where he is to spy on a terrorist named Mollaka. Not everything goes as planned and Bond decides to investigate independently of MI6 oversight to take down the rest of the terrorist cell.
This takes him on a whirlwind journey from the Bahamas to Montenegro, hot on the heels of the sinister Dimitrios – banker to the world’s terrorist organisations – and the marathon game proceeds with dirty tricks and violence, raising the stakes beyond blood money and reaching a terrifying climax.
This 007 reboot received near-universal acclaim upon its release back in 2006 for its disposal of the silliness and gadgetry that had plagued recent James Bond outings, and Craig’s delivery of what fans had been waiting for – a caustic, haunted, and intense reinvention of the iconic agent.
The film also broke several box-office records up, and was nominated for eight BAFTA Awards – winning the award for Best Sound – and made Craig the first Bond actor ever to receive a nomination for Best Actor.
Casino Royale was also nominated for, and has won, many other international awards for its screenplay, film editing, visual effects, and production design, meaning that it is now widely considered to be one of the finest Bond films ever made, so this one is not to be missed.
As no TT Cinema screening would be complete without some form of drinks-based appreciation, our expert bar team will be putting together a bespoke cocktail (no prizes for guessing what it’s going to be) available exclusively on the night, absolutely free.
Plus, the good people at PROPERCORN will be sorting out the complimentary snacks for you, ensuring that you’ll be well looked after.
Tickets are £15 for the one, or £20 for a pair when using the code ‘007’ at checkout. Complimentary cocktail and snacks included as tradition dictates.
Arrival – Attendees will arrive through the doors of our liquor store at 6:30pm to allow time for them to settle in and purchase any beer, wine, or other refreshments they like. Alternatively, guests can make their way down into our Cellar Bar to receive their complimentary cocktail for the night.
Screening – Then, guests will be invited upstairs to our new 52-seater cinema room, where at 7pm sharp the film will begin.
Afters – After the show, attendees will be invited back down to the Cellar Bar, where you can drink, discuss, and continue your evening. Reservations recommended, although not mandatory.
