TT Cinema: A Bigger Splash Negroni Week Screening w/ Campari

25th June

The week of the Negroni lands once more from 24th June, so, together with mixed drink masters Campari, we thought we’d mark Negroni Tuesday with this Italian-infused, beautifully-shot drama courtesy of director Luca Guadagnino.

Featuring a star-studded cast consisting of Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, and Matthias Schoenaerts, the film follows a rock star (Swinton) on an idyllic Sicilian holiday with her boyfriend (Schoenaerts) who get an unexpected visit from an old flame (Fiennes) and his seductive daughter (Johnson).

Loosely based on the 1969 Jacques Deray film, La Piscine, and named after the famous David Hockney painting, it is the second instalment in Guadagnino’s self-described Desire trilogy, following I Am Love (2009), and preceding Call Me By Your Name (2017).

Upon its release, the film wowed critics with great performances from its immensely talented cast, with its absorbing plot, and its visually arresting and spectacularly beautiful cinematography which seems to bring the sights, sounds, and even tastes of the rugged Sicilian coast to theatres and living rooms across the land.

A Bigger Splash went on to be nominated for numerous awards, and it ended up scooping two awards at the Venice Film Festival for Best Innovative Budget, and for its vivid, authentic soundtrack.

All in all, fans of psychological adult drama will not be disappointed by this gem.

As no TT Cinema screening would be complete without some form of drinks-based appreciation, our expert bar team will be putting together a bespoke Campari-based cocktail (no prizes for guessing what it’s going to be) available exclusively on the night, absolutely free.

Plus, the good people at PROPERCORN will be sorting out the complimentary snacks for you, ensuring that you’ll be well looked after.

Tickets are £15 for the one, or £20 for a pair when using the code ‘negroniat checkout. Complimentary cocktail and snacks included as tradition dictates.

Arrival – Attendees will arrive through the doors of our liquor store at 6:30pm to allow time for them to settle in and purchase any beer, wine, or other refreshments they like. Alternatively, guests can make their way down into our Cellar Bar to receive their complimentary cocktail for the night.

Screening – Then, guests will be invited upstairs to our new 52-seater cinema room, where at 7pm sharp the film will begin.

Afters – After the show, attendees will be invited back down to the Cellar Bar, where you can drink, discuss, and continue your evening. Reservations recommended, although not mandatory.
