Tasting Sessions - Isle of Harris Gin

April’s first exclusive Tasting Session will be led by Rachel Macdonald of Isle of Harris Gin.

They pride themselves on being ‘The Social Distillery’. What they mean by this is that they embrace the generous character of their island home and the people who live there, opening their doors six days a week to connect with all those who want to learn more about their story and share their spirit.

And now’s your chance to share in the knowledge that has won them numerous awards since first opening their doors in 2015.

Let Rachel guide you through the fascinating tale of the brand’s conception, as well as the unique processes that set their liquid apart. Expect tales of the starring role sugar kelp plays in their botanical make-up, their unparalleled connection to the land and sea around them, and how a feisty local lady of rather diminutive stature lent her name to one of their first copper stills.

Attendees will get the chance to taste their gin neat, before trying it with the addition of their trademark sugar kelp aromatic water, and finally with tonic to gain a full perspective and appreciation of the range of flavours in store at each stage.

Tickets are £10 a head and include a welcome Isle of Harris cocktail, followed up by an intimate guided tasting of their range down in our subterranean vaults.

FORMAT

Arrival – Guests will arrive through the doors of our specialist liquor store on Kingsland Road at around 6:20pm, where they will be greeted by one of our team.

Welcome Drink – You will then be led down the stairs and into our Cellar Bar, where our discerning mixologists will hand you your complimentary Isle of Harris serve.

Guided Tasting – Once you’ve sipped your way through your complimentary cocktail, your guide for the evening will lead you on a comprehensive tasting of Isle of Harris’ award-winning liquids down in our vaults, explaining their unique ethos and the painstaking processes that go into every bottle.

Afters – All attendees are welcome to remain in the Cellar Bar at the conclusion of your session. Prior reservation is recommended but not mandatory.
