Description
FULL DESCRIPTION
The Teeling Single Malt release is a vatted mix of triple distilled whiskey aged in an array of different ex-wine casks. The five varietals used are sherry, Madeira, port, white Burgundy and Cabernet Sauvignon. This leads to a whiskey with layers of different flavours with each type of ex-wine cask bringing something unique to the table. Fortunately, the team at Teeling are exceptionally talented in what they do, resulting in a complex yet well balanced single malt.

Gift
The Teeling Single Malt would make an excellent gift for a single malt scotch fan who hasn’t had much experience with Irish whiskies. Always striving for innovation, Teeling are very good at pushing the limits and displaying just how broad the category of Irish whiskey can be stretched.
RECOMMENDATIONS
If the person you’re buying for is a fan of the Teeling Single Malt, you could also try Tyrconnell 10 Port Finish, Green Spot or Auchentoshan 3 Wood.
Connoisseur
Irish whiskey was once the most popular spirit in the world and has been massively on the rise in popularity in recent years. Ireland and Scotland both lay claim to being whisky’s original creator but it’s likely both nations developed a similar product at around the same time. The knowledge of distillation is commonly thought to have been brought to Ireland (and Scotland) by monks returning from the Mediterranean and the Middle East in around 1000AD.
