The Talisker 18 is like seeing a grown-up version of the 10-year old that not only lived up to its expectations but went above and beyond. Connoisseur
The malt that comes from Talisker is unique. Medium peated, but with the added complexity of a water source that has run through peat itself. There’s a lot of reflux taking place in the tall stills and talisker also use a worm tub in cold water to condense. This results in a sulphury new make that adds weight to the whisky. Maturation is mostly in refill and rejuvenated casks.
