TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Rose gold.
Nose: Sweet cured meat smoke and iodine.
Taste: Weighty peat with the sweetness of orchard fruit and heather.
Finish: Cracked pepper leads to dry salty smoke.
Overall: A hard malt to describe in short sentences, there is a richness that gives weight and body to the smoky, briny Island character.
Gift

RECOMMENDATIONS
If the person you’re buying for is a fan of the Talisker 10, you could also try Bowmore 15, Jura Superstition or Lagavulin 16.
Connoisseur
The malt that comes from Talisker is unique. Medium peated, but with the added complexity of a water source that has run through peat itself. There’s a lot of reflux taking place in the tall stills and talisker also use a worm tub in cold water to condense. This results in a sulphury new make that adds weight to the whisky. Maturation is mostly in refill and rejuvenated casks.
