Description

FULL DESCRIPTION
Consistently scoring upwards of 90 points by industry professionals, the Talisker 10 has become somewhat of a benchmark when describing Island scotch. It ticks a lot of different boxes, thus having something for everyone whether it be savoury or sweet.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Rose gold.
Nose: Sweet cured meat smoke and iodine.
Taste: Weighty peat with the sweetness of orchard fruit and heather.
Finish: Cracked pepper leads to dry salty smoke.
Overall: A hard malt to describe in short sentences, there is a richness that gives weight and body to the smoky, briny Island character.

Gift

With such a highly rated whisky it’s going to be hard to disappoint whomever you are buying for. The Talisker 10 has become a staple for whisky collections and back-bars alike. If the person you are buying for enjoys big flavours such a bold Bordeaux, this is the scotch for them.

RECOMMENDATIONS
If the person you’re buying for is a fan of the Talisker 10, you could also try Bowmore 15, Jura Superstition or Lagavulin 16.

Connoisseur

The malt that comes from Talisker is unique. Medium peated, but with the added complexity of a water source that has run through peat itself. There’s a lot of reflux taking place in the tall stills and talisker also use a worm tub in cold water to condense. This results in a sulphury new make that adds weight to the whisky. Maturation is mostly in refill and rejuvenated casks.
