Taste: Heather, zesty fruitcake and salted caramel.
Finish: Cinnamon, white pepper and honey lead to lingering smoke.
Overall: There is a ton of flavour and character here without anything being too overbearing.
Gift
You don’t want to call this whisky cheap because it’s far from it, but you won’t find anything that delivers on its dollar as well as the Highland Park 12 does. Very accessible, the smoke is warming and inviting as to welcome the pallette.
RECOMMENDATIONS
If the person you’re buying for is a fan of the Highland Park 12 you could also try Talisker 18, Bunnahabhain 12 or Old Pulteney 12.
