In one of our rum tasting adventures, guests will discover the wild and colourful history of rum while sampling a carefully curated selection of the diverse spirit.
Welcoming you through the doors of our specialist off licence on Kingsland Road, attendees will be greeted by their attentive hosts and handed a classic rum cocktail to enjoy before their tasting gets underway.
Then, the history lesson will begin – but this is one you can drink through.
Guests will be taken taken on a guided tour of the spirit’s vivid history. One which was rife with corruption, exploitation, debauchery and piracy on the high seas, yet it was also the subject of great innovation and one of the enablers of a more interconnected, mercantile world.
Throughout the immersive class, guests are encouraged to sample each strain of rum, and learn how to taste and nose like a pro.
To round off the experience, our hosts will give you two rums to taste before testing your newly-found knowledge. You will be asked where the rum came from, what style it is, how old it is, and to place it on our flavour map.
