INDEPENDENT CINEMA: "LETTERS FROM BAGHDAD" FILM SCREENING

By TATTON & THOMPSON

On 22nd August our independent Shoreditch cinema space hosted a special screening of the award winning documentary, Letters From Baghdad.

It was also an evening in which bold Iraqi flavours met fresh and exciting liquors, thanks to tasty food from JUMA kitchen and our very own bespoke cocktail pairings.

Unlike previous JUMA pop-ups, diners were tearing into and sharing various dishes before the screening.

Making the rounds was plenty of meze, freshly baked tanoor bread, salads, dolma, and biryani to name but a few of the platters on offer.

Pre-screening, guests were greeted by their host for the evening, Philip Juma, at the liquor store, before tucking into a buffet and reception cocktail in the subterranean Cellar Bar.

They were then led into our independent cinema space where they enjoyed the screening in our 52-seater theatre.

Throughout, Philip enlightened guests on the story behind their dishes, each of which were served alongside one of our complimentary cocktail creations.

Guests were invited into the intimate cellar bar after the screening to reflect on the what they had seen, and sample the rest of our varied cocktail menu.
