How to make ...

Frankenstien Zombie

By Stephen Thompson

The Frankenstein Zombie comes from the twisted minds of our very own mad scientists. Mixing vodka, gin, rum and Midori with lemon juice and sugar gives us a surprisingly delicious and devilishly deceptive tiki drink.

Ingredients

10ml Vodka

10ml Gin

10ml White Rum

15ml Midori

25ml Lemon Juice

12.5ml Sugar Syrup

Lemon Wedge to Garnish

Method

Take your Boston Glass or small tin and, using your jigger to measure, add the vodka, gin, rum, midori and sugar syrup to the shaker.

Using your Mexican elbow and a jigger to measure, squeeze 25ml of lemon juice and add it to the shaker.

Fill your shaker with cubed ice and seal using your Boston tin or lid, before shaking vigorously for 10-15 seconds or until your tin is very cold.

Fill your high-ball or tiki mug with cubed ice and, using your Hawthorne strainer, strain your cocktail into the glass.

Garnish with a lemon wedge.

Serve and enjoy!

History

This drink found its way onto our list after a customer who was particularly fond of this Japanese melon liqueur requested that we work it into a tiki menu, we liked it so much it stuck. Our head bartender and events manager, Jake Rogers had this to say about the Frankenstein Zombie:

“The Frankenstein Zombie is a bit of a break from the norm in terms of tiki cocktails, almost more akin to a Long Island Iced Tea than a traditional Zombie, but with the added east-asian flavour of Midori. And with its strength it’s not one for the faint hearted.”
