Previous One-Off Tasting Events

Teeling Whiskey Tasting with Alex Chasko

TT Liquor hosted a day of whiskey tastings, talks and tutelage as we welcomed independent Irish whiskey company Teeling to their home away from home at our Shoreditch establishment.

We’re lucky to have welcomed some amazing people through our doors, and master distiller Alex Chasko is certainly one of them.
An insatiably innovative person in the industry, Chasko has released a wide range of award winning whiskeys under the Teeling brand, and the 30 attendee barmen and women were guided through the day in safe hands.

Thanks in no small part to innovators like Alex, Teeling are certainly a company to look out for. Our discerning mixologists can’t get enough of their whiskey so we make sure our store is fully stocked with Teeling at all times.

After a welcome cocktail which showcased Teeling as well as Umbrella alcoholic ginger beer, guests were treated to a series of illuminating talks by Alex, who went through the finer points of proper Irish whiskey distillation.

They were then invited to taste a range of Teeling whiskies, including their small batch, single malt and single grain varieties, as well as their very own Poítin – a homage to the rebellious spirit underpinning Irish whiskey distillation.

To conclude the Teeling-themed day, attendees were invited down into our intimate cellar bar for yet another Teeling-inspired cocktail created by our knowledgeable bartenders.

Tasting Session – Hudson Bourbon

Legendary global Brand Ambassador Tony Vanaria Joined us for an intimate tasting of one of our favourite Bourbons – Hudson Whiskey.

Before Prohibition more than 1,000 farm distillers produced alcohol from New York grains and fruits. In 2005, Hudson brought the tradition of small batch spirits production back to the Hudson Valley and were responsible for changing state laws that eventually allowed craft distilleries in New York to begin selling to the public again, directly leading to the craft distilling revolution New York is currently experiencing.

We learned about the rather unexpected and accidental journey founders Ralph Erenzo and Brian Lee took to become one of the most in demand American whiskies in the world and, of course, we will get to taste each of their signature whiskies while we are at it – Hudson Baby Bourbon, Hudson Four Grain and Hudson Manhattan Rye.

Tony talked us through what makes them so unique and what inspired the founders to make them in the first place… and who knows there might even be a few prizes up for grabs too.

The Blend By Chivas Regal

Ever wondered about the science of whisky blending, or why certain whiskies are smooth as silk and others deliver quite the fiery kick?

Scotch blended whisky specialists, Chivas Regal gave guests a unique opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of Scotch and learn about the highly skilled process of making Chivas Regal blended Scotch whisky during their whisky blending workshop.

Global interest in Scotch whisky has never been higher. This is illustrated by the fact that Scotch whisky exports hit a record high last year, with bottles of the stuff making their way to drinking cabinets everywhere from Spain to Singapore, from France to the Florida coast.

Chivas know a thing or two about Scotch whisky, and have been practising the art of blending since James Chivas first started experimenting with some of the aged Scotch laid out in the cellar of his Aberdeen grocery store in the mid-19th century.
Led by their knowledgeable tutor, guests learned about the different processes that go into making grain whisky and single malts and the role each of these liquids, and their respective flavour profiles, play in the art of whisky blending.
