NEGRONI WEEK STRAZZANTI SICILIAN SUPPERCLUBS W/ CAMPARI & MCQUEENS

We’re teaming up with talented chef Emilia Strazzanti, McQueens Florist, and Campari to host a series of unforgettable Sicilian Supperclubs to coincide with Negroni Week (24th-30th June 2019).

Also held in honour of 100 years of the Negroni, we’ll be sorting guests with bespoke cocktail pairings put together by our expert mixologists, whilst McQueens Florists will be turning our West Wing banqueting space into a botanical wonderland especially for the occasion – replete with delicate trailing foliages, potted herbs, prickly pear plants, and a gorgeous window display of lush greenery.

Taking place every evening from 26th-29th June, The Sicilian Supperclub will be an intimate and relaxed setting to celebrate the evolution of the iconic Negroni, first invented in 1919 at Caffe Casoni in Florence, Italy by Count Camillo Negroni.

The evening will begin with an assortment of Aperitivo and Stuzzichini, including Zucchine with Almonds, and heavenly deep-fried Primo Sale cheese with honey and Sicilian oregano, which will be enjoyed with an O’ndina Basil G&T. Other antipasti plates will include crowd-pleasing wild fennel, pork belly and mozzarella croquettes, Capulitatu & fresh tomatoes with Sicilian oregano & fresh buffalo Ricotta cheese, all served with E5’s Hackney Wild Bread. The sharing plates will be served with a classic Americano – a Campari, sweet vermouth, and club soda concoction.

Mains will come in the form of a hearty Timballo aubergine alla norma, paired alongside a classic Negroni. This will be followed by a twist on the bittersweet Italian classic; a Strazzanti Prickly Pear Granite and Negroni Sbagliato, before finishing on a sweet note with a dessert of Strazzanti’s signature Sicilian pistachio tart with lemon.

Due to the nature of this event we are unable to offer vegan or gluten free alternatives however a vegetarian option for the meat is available.

FORMAT:

Arrival – Attendees are encouraged to arrive through the doors of our liquor store by 6pm, allowing them ample time to collect their welcome cocktail from our Cellar Bar and get stuck into some traditional Palermo street food style nibbles.

Supper – Guests will then be guided further up the building and into our West Wing banqueting space, where they will get stuck into a Sicilian feast including bespoke cocktail pairings – designed to perfectly match the varied flavour profiles of the dishes.

Afters – Plates clear, appetites satisfied, and glasses emptied, attendees are invited to continue their evening down in our subterranean Cellar Bar. Reservations recommended, although not mandatory.
