'5 Stories' Supper Club by No Idea

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be hosting two days of innovative supper club goodness on 11th and 12th March, courtesy of No Idea.

No Idea is a brand-new food concept created by pastry chef & chocolatier-turned entrepreneur, Andrew Sutton, sponsored by Porters Gin & Riedel Glassware.

Andrew’s vision has always been to create an at-the-counter dining experience, where the lines between sweet and savoury are blurred to vivid effect.

Inspired by No Idea’s slogan, ‘fine dining through the eyes of a pastry chef’, each course in the 5-dish tasting menu is influenced by the ideologies of pastry and paired off with a drink that not only compliments well, but is a crucial component of the experience.

To this end, they have sourced 5 top bartenders from around the capital and tasked each with creating a drinks pairing for one of the courses.

These highly-skilled mixologists will be there in person to share their stories and inspirations on what got them to where they are today, and what it is that continues to drive them.

In no particular order, these dab hands will be; Enrico Gonzato, Simone De Luca of Punch Rooms, Vince Smart of Hawksmoor, Charlotte Charret of The Bloomsbury Club Bar, and Jack Porter of The Ned’s Library Bar.

There will be two sessions on each night, one at 6pm featuring the lighter ‘snacks’ menu, and one at 8pm which will feature the full 5-course tasting menu.

All sittings will be preceded by a hands-on Porters Gin masterclass, adding up to an unmissable multi-sensory dining experience.

FORMAT

Arrival – Guests will arrive around 15-30 minutes before their sitting is due to begin, allowing ample time to get yourselves settled and get yourself a refreshment from our well-stocked fridge while you wait.

Masterclass & Dining – Attendees will then be invited up into our Aviation Room, where they will first be treated to a Porters Gin masterclass before being served 5 separate plates with 5 perfectly complimentary cocktail pairings.

Afters – Once your approximately 2-hour session is at an end, guests are welcome to make their way back downstairs and into our subterranean cocktail bar, The Cellar Bar. There, they can sample our cocktail list, discuss and continue their evening. Reservations recommended, although not mandatory.

We have a variety of lounges dedicated to hosting private as well as public dining experiences at our permanent home on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch, east London.
