SHOP TASTING: UMBRELLA BREWING WHISKY FINISH

Yesterday, TT Liquor opened its doors to Umbrella Brewing for a series of in-shop tastings to showcase the launch of their new experimental alcoholic ginger beer finished with a hint of Dewar’s distinctive scotch whisky flavour.

Dewar’s kindly donated one of their Aberfeldy whisky casks (no. 4521) which was used to mature a batch of their Ginger Beer.

The day featured an inviting storefront spread showcasing the new bottle with it’s special edition tartan label, and guests were invited inside for a free beer tasting session.

The display picked up a substantial amount of positive press for the independent Holloway-based brewery.

The shop was packed full of Dewar’s representatives, ginger beer fanatics and interested members of the public alike, and the Scottish twist on classic alcoholic ginger beer was very well received – the time in the oak barrel mellowed the flavour of the liquid, and it has picked up a nuance of the whisky on the finish.
